Today Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Vitaliy Svichinsky met with representatives of the CANADEM Mission.

"The responses of international election observers are an important mechanism for ensuring the transparency of elections. As a country that adheres to European values and in which democratic transformations take place on a daily basis, we seek to ensure a fair election process in accordance with generally accepted international standards and human rights, "said Vitaliy Svichinsky.

The parties discussed the organization and conduct of elections, the implementation and protection of constitutional electoral rights of Ukrainian citizens and the assistance of the regional state administration in the work of the Central Electoral Commission, which is provided for by the legislation of Ukraine.

Please note that the CANADEM mission is an international non-profit organization promoting democracy, international peace and security. The mandate of the Mission is to conduct an assessment of the electoral process during the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. International observers assess Ukraine's compliance with OSCE commitments and other international standards for democratic elections, as well as national legislation. The Canadian Mission monitors, writes and reports on its findings without interfering and without interrupting electoral processes. Observers in no way legitimize the electoral process and do not confirm the results of the election.

At the end of the meeting, Vitaliy Swichinsky thanked the representatives of the Canadian Mission for independent election observation, prevention and fixation of election violations, ensuring the openness of the electoral process and promoting its publicity.
