In the Tatarbunary of the Odessa Oblast, an Inclusive Resource Center (IRC) was established for the rehabilitation and correction of the child's development. Here you can also use the help of a practical psychologist and speech therapist. The head of Odesa Oblast State Administration Maxim Stepanov has visited the new institution.

"Even 3-4 years ago, almost nobody knew about the concept of" inclusive education ", and the state could not offer anything to children with special educational needs. At the moment, 479 classes and 48 preschool groups for such training have been created in the region. And today we are opening another inclusive resource center. This is a very important event for the area. And the children here really will be comfortable and cool to do ", - stressed the chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Stepanov.

Children from 2 to 18 years of age living in the Tatarbunar district, as well as Tuzliv and Limansky OTG will receive assistance. At present, the services of the center need more than 90 children. In addition, if necessary, families will be able to use early intervention services for children under the age of four who have a risk of developmental disabilities.

The center is fully equipped with modern equipment, which enables children to develop cognitive processes and increase their motivation to study. For this purpose, there are cabinets of physical education and psychological discharges, a resource room.

Also provided is a qualified support for children with special educational needs. In particular, after comprehensive psychological and pedagogical assessment they will be sent to educational institutions. All services of the center are free of charge. Currently, ISC holds a competitive set of teachers and specialists for working with children.

It should be noted that equipping and repairing the premises of the center was carried out at the expense of state, regional and district budgets, as well as local entrepreneur sponsors.

Maxim Stepanov said that the opening of the centers will take place in several other districts soon. "This is a constant process, we have to reach a sufficient number of IRCs and completely close this issue," he said.

Recall that the region joined the national project on the development of inclusive educational environment in May 2018. In particular, the first lady Marina Poroshenko and the head of the Regional State Administration Maksym Stepanov signed a memorandum on the establishment of a network of inclusive-resource centers (IDCs) in the Odessa region.
