The first meeting of the Regional Development Council took place in Odesa Oblast. Its participants discussed the long-term plans for the region's development for 2019-2021. It included the leadership of the Odessa Regional State Administration, the Odessa Regional Council, the deputies of the regional council and the Verkhovna Rada, the heads of the OTG, the heads of the RSA, mayors of cities and public figures.

"It is precisely at this time that we must demonstrate unity and give people a message: in spite of any pressure on the part of the aggressor, Ukraine not only successfully defends itself, but also develops. Each of the Council members has experience, successful projects. And the main thing is the strategic vision of the development of the Odessa region - exactly what President Petro Poroshenko emphasizes ", - emphasized the chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Stepanov during the opening of the meeting.

He noted that the Regional Development Council is an opportunity to analyze the effectiveness of each manager and make a cut of the starting situation, taking into account the specifics of each territory.

Thus, according to the head of the Berezovsky City Council of OTG Valery Grigorash, in 2018 all settlements of the community were covered by street lighting, and schools were 100% provided with projectors, school supplies, furniture and computer equipment in the process of implementing the New Ukrainian School.

"Realizing the importance of planning for our further activities, we set ourselves important strategic goals: energy efficiency of communal facilities and land improvement, water supply and wastewater treatment, as well as solid waste recycling and sorting," Valery Grigorash said in his report.

City Mayor Ismail Andrei Abramchenko said that next year, a large-scale modernization of the city's drainage system will start within the framework of the European Union project.

"We are ready to make another important step forward. The city council offers five settlements in the district: Stara Nekrasovka, Danube, Matroska, Brozka and Safiyans to join Izmail. Creating OTGs is new opportunities and prospects for all of us ", - said Andriy Abramchenko.

Based on the priorities of their communities, each district, city and OTG should develop their own plans for medium-term development and discuss them with people. "The result of the work will be updated plan for the development of the region for the next 3 years", - said the head of the Odessa region Maxim Stepanov.

Recall that in November the meeting of the Regional Development Council with the participation of the country's leadership took place in Kyiv, where discussions on global infrastructure projects and development plans of Ukraine took place. President Petro Poroshenko instructed regional leaders to develop plans for the future development of territories for 2019-2021, discuss and adopt them at the community level.

The Council for Regional Development is an advisory body under the President of Ukraine.
