The X Regional Forum "Organic Ukraine" was held in the Odessa region
The development and condition of the organic production of the Odessa region were discussed during the X regional forum "Organic Ukraine". The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Regional State Administration Svetlana Shatalova, heads of agricultural enterprises and traders.
"Organic production is one of the promising directions. We must work, study, share experiences. During the forum, we have the opportunity to find those features of our products, which will allow them to be realized at a higher cost, as well as find new markets for implementation. I note that according to the information provided by the Commercial Service of the US Embassy in Ukraine, the average return on investment in domestic organic farming is about 300%. The demand for organic products in some countries is much higher than the supply, so this industry is beneficial for our entrepreneurs ", - said the deputy chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Svetlana Shatalova.
During the forum participants got acquainted with the success stories of domestic producers of organic products, exchanged their experience and discussed the problems faced by producers. In addition, experts spoke about the standards for organic products certification and conducted an analysis of its exports. The forum's organizers are Organic Ukraine, Organic Expert Consulting LLC and Odessa Oblast State Administration.
Recall that Odessa region produces ecologically pure grains, leguminous and oilseeds in large volumes; in the smaller one - honey, berries and livestock products.
