Odessa region joined the World Action "16 Days Without Violence". From November 25 to December 10, thematic events will be held on the territory of the region. This was announced by deputy chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Vitaliy Svichinsky.

"During the campaign on the territory of the oblast, it is planned to hold educational events in order to attract society's attention to such issues as domestic violence and trafficking in human beings. According to statistics, in Ukraine, only 35% of people who have suffered from violence are being called for help. On the first day of the action, November 25, as a sign of solidarity to counteract violence, the building of the regional state administration will be highlighted in orange, symbolizing a bright future. Today more than 100 countries of the world have already joined the campaign, "said Vitaliy Svichinsky.

He added that such cases can not be ignored. If there is violence in a family, you need to talk about it in order to get proper protection.

In turn, Director of the Department of Family and Social Policy of the Regional State Administration Liliya Kovalenko noted that all regions of the region will join the action. "Educational institutions will hold thematic trainings, lectures and talks on combating violence, exhibitions will be organized, as well as citizens' polls are planned," she said.
