During 2018, the Odessa region visited 6.2 million tourists. The largest number of foreign guests came from Moldova, Israel, Romania, Byelorussia and Poland. This was discussed during the hardware meeting of the Odessa Regional State Administration.

"In the Odessa region there are magnificent museums, architectural monuments, natural resources - all the guests of the region should know and see with their own eyes. Last year, we opened 19 new tourist routes and do not plan to stop there. We will expand geography, in particular, and our gastronomic tours, which are in great demand. This year we count on at least 6.7 million tourists, including from abroad, "- said the chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Stepanov.

The regional envoy noted that such an increase in the tourist flow is possible, in particular, under the condition of active promotion of the region. Therefore, Maxim Stepanov instructed the regional administration of the Regional State Administration to strengthen the popularization of tourist objects. For example, for the first time a manual was developed that contains a map and information about each of them.

"We have three programs for the development of tourist subregions - the Danube, Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky and Nizhnednistrovsky basins. They include opportunities for investment and infrastructure projects. In addition, in 2019, a road map for the development of the Kuyalnik resort was developed. Ahead - approval of the target program ", - said the head of the department of tourism, recreation and resorts of the Odessa Regional State Administration Alexander Sheka.

Recall that the development of tourism is one of the priorities of the Strategic Action Plan of the chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Maxim Stepanov "Intelligent Region". In particular, on his initiative in 2018, the natural territories of the Kuyalnitsky estuary were declared a resort of state importance. In addition, a nomination request for the inclusion of the Ackerman Fortress in the UNESCO World Heritage List was also addressed.
