"Road safety" - the development of a comprehensive regional program is at the final stage. By the end of 2020 it is planned to achieve significant results in its priority areas. This was reported during a meeting of the specialized coordination council in the Odessa Regional State Administration.

"The regional program has been developed with the participation of the public and all the controlling bodies. It now has the form of a project to be submitted to the regional council session. In the meantime, we can add additions and suggestions there. We also discussed this program with the representatives of the European Union Consultative Mission, who expressed their support in all areas, and even suggested funding for several of them, "said Deputy Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Svitlana Shatalova.

The developers of the program aim at reducing the number of traffic accidents and their negative consequences; increase of consciousness of participants of movement and level of infrastructure.

Note that the special commission will review the state of roads, streets and railroad crossings. In addition, members of the Coordinating Council raised the issue of combating illegal traffic. Svetlana Shatalova added that this is especially true on the eve of the tourist season and harvesting.

Recall that security is one of the key priorities of Maxim Stepanov's Strategic Action Plan "Intelligent Region." Therefore, on his instructions, throughout 2018, trainings on the elimination of the consequences of road accidents were conducted in all regions of the region.
