In Odessa region rewarded warriors who received disability

In Odesa region awards were awarded to soldiers who received disability during combat operations in the East of Ukraine. Also, the honorary certificates of the Odessa Regional State Administration were received by representatives of rayon organizations and associations of persons with disabilities. The awards were held on the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities.

"It is very important to create in society such conditions in which people with disabilities will feel comfortable. We are constantly working to ensure equal rights and opportunities for such people. In almost all districts of the region, there are access committees established, we open inclusive-resource centers for children with special educational needs and work on implementing social projects in partnership with NGOs, "said Vitaliy Svichynsky, deputy chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration.

It should be noted that in the Odessa region there are about 140 thousand people with a disability.

Recall that the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in the world is celebrated annually on December 3. It was first proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1992. The marking of this date is aimed at increasing the attention to the problems of the disabled, the protection of their dignity, rights and well-being. The International Day of Disabled Persons focuses on the achievements of people with disabilities in the political, social, economic and cultural life of the country. In Ukraine, for the first time this day was celebrated in 1993 in accordance with the Presidential Decree.
