Awarding the winners of the X International Basin Competition "Colors of the Dniester - 2018" took place in the Odessa region. Children from the age of 6 years, students and teachers from different corners of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova presented their work. Deputy Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Svetlana Shatalova took part in the award ceremony.

"For the formation of ecological culture and ecological world outlook among children and young people living in the Dniester basin, this international competition was launched. Now he is doing the most important thing: unites a generation that is keen on the further ecological state of the river and adjoining territories. Their unique works make it clear that among the inhabitants of the Dniester basin are not indifferent to his future fate, "Svetlana Shatalova noted.

The competition took place on the topic "Think globally - actions locally". In total, more than 600 participants have submitted their work, 80 of which have become winners in different age categories. Competition competitions were held in nominations: "Drawing", "Photobomb", "Video film, slide show", "The event on the improvement of water resources", "Work, story, verse, popular science article".

The purpose of the competition is to encourage young people from both sides of the Dniester to study the problems of preservation and reproduction of water resources, to treat the rivers and the environment in general, to raise the skills to see the beauty and to creatively reproduce it. Over 10 years of its existence, winners have become more than 800 participants.

Note that the X International Basin Competition "Colors of the Dniester-2018" was implemented with the support of the project of the Global Environment Facility "Promoting Transboundary Cooperation and Integrated Water Resources Management in the Dniester Basin", implemented by the OSCE, UNDP and UNECE, as well as the State Agency for Water Resources of Ukraine .
