Trainings for social workers, police and NGOs on prevention and counteraction to domestic violence will be conducted in the Odessa region. The exercises will involve European experts. This was stated during a meeting with representatives of the EU Consultative Mission in Ukraine in the Odessa Regional State Administration.

"It is impossible to prevent domestic violence without the cooperation of the authorities, the police and NGOs. Soon, we will hold a round table to discuss additional tools for preventing domestic violence. I believe that practical training should be carried out not only for law-enforcers, but also to involve social workers and representatives of civic organizations dealing with the prevention of domestic violence ", - said during the meeting Deputy Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Serhii Koleboshin.

A CSCE spokeswoman, Criminal Advisor responsible for violence in the family, Klaus Winter, in turn, said that an appropriate training for policemen was scheduled for August in the Odessa region. And he assured that the Mission would provide support in conducting additional trainings in the region for social workers and representatives of non-governmental organizations.

In December 2017, the Coordinating Council on Family Matters, Gender Equality, Demographic Development, Prevention of Violence in the Family and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings were set up at the Odessa Regional State Administration.
