In the Odessa region, educators of pre-school educational institutions have joined the Ukrainian sign language. This was reported by the director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odessa Regional State Administration Oleksandr Lonchak.

"It is important that children with hearing impairment from an early age have equal access to quality education. That is why the courses of the Ukrainian sign language are extended to kindergarten educators. In the first lesson, teachers learned the skills of speaking in sign language, as a means of communication, as well as learned to congratulate, to say goodbye, to apologize and to thank. Such courses will allow children with hearing impairment to feel more comfortable in society ", - said Alexander Lonchak.

Classes are held on the basis of the Odessa Academy of Continuing Education. Teachers of trainings-seminars are experienced specialists of special educational institutions for hearing impaired children.

It should be noted that the educational course "Fundamentals of the Ukrainian Sign Language" was implemented at the initiative of the chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Maxim Stepanov.

Recall that at the moment, 479 inclusive and integrated classes, in which children with special educational needs are studying, are created in the Odessa region, which is six times more than two years ago. The development of inclusive education is one of the key priorities of the Strategic Action Plan of the Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Maxim Stepanov "Intelligent Region".
