In the Odessa region, 143 orphaned children are provided with housing in 2018

During 2018, housing was provided to 143 orphans and children deprived of parental care, which is one of the highest rates in Ukraine. This became known during the teleconference meeting of the Odessa Regional State Administration with the participation of districts, cities and OTG.

"For the second year in a row Odessa region demonstrates the best result in Ukraine. At the expense of the subvention from the state budget, 81 residential properties were purchased for 93 orphan children. Among them there is one small group house and nine kindergartens of a family type. More fifty children received keys from their homes at the expense of regional and local programs, as well as other sources ", - said the deputy chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Serhii Koleboshin.

He also added that during 2018 the largest number of residential properties was purchased by Rozdilnyansky, Belyaevsky, Saratsky districts and the city of Odessa.

It should be noted that, according to the order of the chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Stepanov, a special commission is working to determine the general course of provision of housing and specific objects to which funds are directed. In 2018, the state subvention to local budgets amounted to almost 62 million hryvnia. It envisaged the carrying out of design and construction and repair works, the purchase of housing or premises for the development of family and education forms, the provision of housing for orphans, and individuals from them.

As a result, Sergey Koleboshin emphasized that the priority for 2019 was the construction or reconstruction of family-type orphanages (DBST) and the construction of small group houses. In accordance with the changes, in addition to providing housing for orphans, the state subvention will be allocated to the needs of children deprived of parental care aged 18 to 23 years. On the ground, it is recommended to pre-estimate their number in accordance with the queue.

Recall that in 2017 the region became the leader in Ukraine - 191 orphans and deprived of parental care received housing at the expense of financing from local budgets and state subsidies.
