Today, a solemn meeting with veterans of the Second World War (1939-1945) and a veteran's act on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the region took place in the regional state administration with the participation of the acting head of the regional state administration Svetlana Shatalova and the deputy head of the regional state administration Vitaliy Svichinsky from the Nazi occupiers.

Veterans solemnly handed over the symbols of the baton to the Glory to the Liberators of Ukraine for lifelong storage at the National Museum of the Second World War (Kyiv).

Participants of World War II were presented with commemorative signs by the head of the regional state administration on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Odesa from Nazi occupiers.

“Today, remembering the events that preceded the liberation of Odesa from the yoke of occupation, the heroes who gave their lives, freeing our native land from the Nazi occupiers, we bow our heads low in memory of the fallen soldiers. We are proud of our veterans, their exploits for the sake of freedom, for the sake of their motherland, for the sake of life on earth. Nowadays, this holiday is filled with new meaning, because Ukrainians are again defending their own state against an external aggressor. A low bow to you, the creators of the Great Victory, for your native Ukraine, for your courage, for your wounds, for your faith - to all those who fought the enemy on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, in the occupied territory, who worked in the rear, for your significant contribution to the common victory over fascism ”, - said Svetlana Shatalova.
