In the seven districts of the Odessa region a new educational project "Teacher +" has started. The best teachers in the region will be taught online for students from the most remote schools. This was announced by the chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Stepanov during the presentation "Teacher +" on the basis of the Richelieu Lyceum.

"We present a unique educational program, the analogues of which in Ukraine do not yet exist. "Teacher +" is a network of distance education, through which we can provide the best teachers of rural schools and each student personally. Such technologies embody the dreams of our children, and knowledge becomes available regardless of place of residence. Today we start and work out all the details for a year. For our children are the best in the world! "- said the chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Stepanov.

Today, the first lessons of "Teacher +" were broadcasted with Richelieu Lyceum. The topic "Thermal phenomena" was e-masters of seven schools from different regions of the region. They had the opportunity to answer and ask the teacher questions.

It is planned that around 60 educational establishments of the region will join the project "Teacher +" during this academic year. In the future, any school can use it. For this purpose, the Odessa Regional State Administration has already purchased equipment for 100 modern day-care offices of a total cost of 30 million hryvnias. Each of the offices is equipped with an interactive panel, projector and computers with high-speed Internet connection and Wi-Fi.

Each school in the system will have its own login and password, and students will have the opportunity to work out materials for lessons. Subsequently, teaching not only students but also teachers will be held remotely also from the Odessa Academy of Continuing Education. This project is intended to solve the problem of personnel shortages in the region. As of now, schools lack more than 600 teachers, mainly natural and mathematical disciplines.

"At the first stage, 60 teachers will participate in the project. We have already agreed to cooperate with the Odessa physicist Pavel Victor, who has 200,000 followers on his own thematic Youtube channel. He will join the project in the fall, when he will fully recover from surgery. Volodymyr Nemertsalov, a BeSmart project scientist, candidate of biological sciences, also joins "Teacher +", - said Maxim Stepanov. He also stressed that the Odessa region is open for the exchange of experience and cooperation with other regions.

Recall "BeSmart" - another development, initiated by the head of the Regional State Administration Maxim Stepanov. The online platform helps all graduates prepare for exams: online and for free. The platform has already been used by 65,000 children, including temporarily occupied territories.

The introduction of state-of-the-art technologies in education is one of the priorities of the Strategic Action Plan of the Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Maxim Stepanov "Intelligent Region" for 2017-2019.
