The US solemnly handed over patrol boats to the naval forces of Ukraine
Today, on November 13, the solemn ceremony of the transfer of patrol boats of the US Coast Guard Service Drummond and Cushin, named Slavyansk and Starobilsk, took place. The event was attended by the Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Maksym Kutsyi.
He congratulated the sailors who would serve on the boats and thanked the Ukrainian naval forces and US leadership for their cooperation and enhancement of security in the region.
The strategic designation of the Slavyansk and Starobilsk patrol boats is first and foremost the collection of operational data, the fight against smuggling and ensuring a shipping.
During the ceremony, the flags of the Ukrainian naval forces were solemnly raised.
They were delivered to the port of Odesa by the American freighter ship Ocean Freedom, which brought on board two patrol boats as well as a search vessel.
