92% of medical establishments in Odesa Oblast are ready to contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine. Currently, about 98% are registered in the electronic healthcare system, about 99% are connected to medical information systems.

This was discussed at a meeting in the Odesa Regional State Administration. The topic of the meeting was preparation for the conclusion of the contract with the NSAU within the framework of the implementation of the program of medical guarantees. The event was attended by ODA executives, representatives of the MoH, NHSU, USAID Healthcare Support Project, and owners of health facilities.

“The development of medicine in the region is one of our priorities. Currently, a vertically integrated system has been created that brings together all medical facilities in the Odesa region into a single medical space. This will effectively affect the provision of quality services to every inhabitant of the region regardless of their place of residence. We actively cooperate with the NHSU specialists. We also receive counseling from the Southern Interregional Department of the NHSU. The introduction of the medical guarantee program will be the basis for effective changes at all levels of medical reform, ”said Vitalii Svichynskyi, Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration.

All participants of the meeting were informed about changes in the medical sector in Ukraine.

“The main task of the Southern Interregional Department of the NHSU is to provide information, consultation and legal support to medical institutions. To inform patients, physicians and facility managers about the further transformation of the healthcare system. And since 2020, to promote the implementation of the program of medical guarantees in the region as much as possible, ”said Olena Teriaieva, Director of the Southern Interregional Department.

For reference: According to the NHS, over 92% of hospitals are ready for reform. More than 98% of specialized medical institutions have been autonomous. About 84% are computerized. Registered in the Electronic Health System (EEPR) - over 98%. Connected to medical information systems (MIS) - about 99% of specialized medical institutions. And more than 91% of medical professionals have received a qualified digital signature.

Also, according to the director of the Department of Communications of the NSAU Tetiana Boiko, the transformation of the system is in the interests of the patient. It is the patient who must be at the center of the healthcare system. Thanks to the medical guarantee program, people will have a list of free services. To receive it, you must make a declaration with the primary care physician and continue to receive referrals to the following levels of care.
