The further destiny of the tanker Delfi will be resolved by January 25

Odesa regional state administration discussed the consequences of the accident related to the tanker Delfi. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Regional State Administration Maksym Kutsyi with the participation of representatives of the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine, the Captain of the Odesa Port, departments of the Odesa City Council, National Police, State Border Service, State Inspectorate.

A diving inspection of the tanker is currently underway. Experts will submit the results of the study by January 15.

“Considering the divers' conclusion, the ship owner will decide whether to lift the tanker and tow it to the nearest ports or spray it on metal. We expect him to announce his decision by January 25th. Then we will have a clear idea of how long it will take to completely eliminate the consequences of the accident, "- said the head of Odesa Regional State Administration Maksym Kutsyi.

We will remind, the shipwreck of the tanker Delfi occurred on November 22, 2019. The night before, the ship anchored off anchor in the Gulf of Odesa and carried it to Dolphin Beach, where it sat for miles. A joint effort of the ODA, the Odesa City Council, the border guards, the diving service, the SES, and the tank crew of three people evacuated.
