New state building regulations should ensure accessibility and comfort for people with disabilities. This was stated during the All-Ukrainian meeting on the issues of barrier-free environment, said President Poroshenko. Odessa Regional State Administration, together with representatives of profile public organizations, joined the event online.

"By creating an unhindered environment for people with disabilities, we create a comfortable life for older people, parents and children - for virtually all citizens without exception. Therefore, in order to design and build correctly, at today's meeting Minregion presented the new state building codes "Inclusive buildings and structures" developed in accordance with the provisions of the decrees signed by me, "Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

The head of state also added that an important factor of accessibility is a versatile design or a reasonable fit of an object or service. Currently, two bills have been developed, aimed at eliminating the barrier architectural environment for persons with disabilities. In particular, it is planned to increase the responsibility for violating the legal and legal norms concerning the mobility of persons with disabilities in new and existing buildings.

Recall, the diplomas of the Odessa Regional State Administration were awarded to the military who received disability during the fighting in the East of Ukraine, as well as representatives of profile organizations. The presentation was held on the eve of the International Day of People with Disabilities, which is celebrated annually on December 3.
