Odesa region is among TOP-5 regions in terms of attracting foreign investments
Odesa region ranks fifth in terms of foreign investment attraction in Ukraine.Total foreign direct investment in the first half of 2019 amounted to $ 1,258.6 million. USA.
Director of the Department for Investments, International and Interregional Cooperation Yevheniia Volynets has informed about it.
“The total level of direct investment attracted to the Odesa region increased by 0.7% in the first half of 2019 compared to last year.
According to the data of the Main Directorate of Statistics, the Odesa region occupies the 5th place among other regions in the total volume of foreign direct investments, and per capita of the region's population for the first of July 2019 makes - 531 dollars.
Up to 12 countries of the world receive direct investment from the region. Today, the Department is actively working on 29 investment teasers that can be implemented in the Odesa region, namely, in the alternative energy, tourism and recreation industries, ”said Yevheniia Volynets.
Also, the director said about significant investment projects being implemented in Odessa:
✓ In September, one of the largest infrastructure projects in the port industry of Ukraine was opened - the grain terminal of the country M.V.Cargo, which was named "Neptune", worth $ 150 million.
The opening of the largest wind farm in the Odesa region "Ovid Wind 1" with a capacity of 32.4 MW, which is being implemented by the Turkish company Gurish Inshayat ve Muehndislik A.Sh. with an investment of more than $ 60 million.
Louis A major exporter of Ukrainian grain - Louis Dreyfus Ukraine, together with Brooklyn-Kiev, are implementing a $ 99 million grain-transfer terminal project.
✓ Delta Wilmar CIS LLC is implementing an investment project for the construction of a soybean processing plant, a terminal for storage and simultaneous storage of 40,000 tons of grain and meal, and a new berth for the transshipment of both bulk and bulk cargo in the water area of The Adzhalitskaya estuary of the Yuzhny seaport. with a capacity of up to 3 million tons / year, which will allow to expand the existing production, create about 200 new jobs in the Odesa region, provide cargo transshipment of at least 1.2 million tons / year and ensure budgetary revenues to 500 million UAH annually.
Odesa region is attractive for attracting foreign investments, but modern investors are paying attention to the probable risks related to the level of corruption in our country, protection of their rights and legitimate interests through the judicial system, lack of direct ways of withdrawal of investments and lack of clear mechanism of support investor in the initial stage.
