On the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Europe in Ukraine near the building of the Regional State Administration the solemn lifting of the state flag and the flag of the European Union took place. Deputy Heads of the Regional State Administration Svitlana Shatalova and Vitaliy Svichinsky, as well as Igor Tkachuk, the head of the regional state administration, took part in the event.

"By marking this day, we confirm our desire to become part of the European community. We demonstrate that being a full member of the European Union is not only a state policy, but a sincere desire of our people. Ukraine is Europe! Therefore, let's do everything possible so that every Ukrainian feels himself a full-fledged citizen of the global European community ", - said Vitaliy Svichinsky.

With the participation of Svetlana Shatalova, a presentation of the 70-kilogram cake in honor of the Day of Europe and the 100th anniversary of the Odessa Film Studio, which could be enjoyed by all interested persons, was presented. One hundred gourmet paintings in the form of frames of the film portrayed the most prominent places of Odessa.

The participants of the traditional All-Ukrainian Action "Megamarsh in Vyshynky" were the central streets of the city, along with representatives of the regional state administration. Also, the cadets of the Naval Forces of Ukraine participated in the march, which, together with the children, carried paper boats in their hands in support of the captured sailors.

It should be noted that the holiday was established in Ukraine in accordance with the Presidential Decree "On the Day of Europe" of April 19, 2003. On this day, Ukraine celebrates the day of common values, the common history of all nations of the continent.
