Odeschyna goes to the international format for assessing the development of children with special educational needs

Inclusive-resource centers of the region received sets with modern psychodiagnostic techniques. Specialists will be able to use them for a comprehensive assessment of the development of children after having undergone special training. This was reported by the Department of Education and Science of the Odessa Regional State Administration.

"Odessa region, along with the whole country, is moving to an international format for assessing the development of children with special educational needs. At the initiative of the first lady Marina Poroshenko, an all-Ukrainian training on the use of these techniques is ongoing. Finally, our representatives will pass the exam in order to pass on the experience to their colleagues ", - Alexander Lonchak, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odessa Regional State Administration, emphasized.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Education and Science has sent sets to 13 inclusive-resource centers of the Odessa region. Each consists of 5 techniques: WISC-IV, Leiter-3, Conners-3, PEP-3 and CASD. They will help professionals test the nonverbal intelligence and cognitive abilities of the child, as well as determine its psycho-educational profile. In addition, diagnostics of autistic spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and hyperactivity disorder will be performed.

Recall that the region joined the national project on the development of inclusive educational environment in May 2018. In particular, the first lady Marina Poroshenko and the chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Stepanov signed a memorandum on the creation of a network of inclusive-resource centers (IDCs) in the Odessa region.
