Nearly 30,000 residents of the Odessa region were free of charge during the first wave of the medical project "Mobile Polyclinic". Physicians' teams visited 75 settlements of the region from December to March. This was announced by the chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Stepanov.

"In the course of three months all regions of the region drove through, examined almost 30 thousand patients - even in distant villages. Incredibly grateful to doctors for working in the field! Worked 200%! And the main thing - we saw how much this project is important for people ", - said Maxim Stepanov.

During the first wave, mobile polyclinics were examined in 1.5 times more patients than originally planned. To the determined composition of the teams (cardiologist, ophthalmologist, gynecologist, mammologist, endocrinologist, ultrasound specialist), if necessary, added other specialists.

For example, in the New Biljars, pulmonologists worked, and in Velyka Mykhailivka residents noticed the need for preventive examinations of children. So then the brigades worked for children's surgeons, dermatologists, and dentists. Thus, in many areas, surveys were doubled: for adults - in mobile clinics, for children - at the place of study.

According to statistics, the largest number of inhabitants were surveyed in the cities of Arziz, Kilia and Izmail.

During the work of mobile clinics, doctors identified 3,223 diagnoses and sent patients for treatment, made 1,800 mammographs and nearly 3,500 ultrasound examinations.

Therefore, the purpose of the "Mobile Polyclinic" project - to bring medicine to remote villages and to identify the most common diseases in the early stages - was achieved. This, in particular, contributed to the attraction of telemedicine technologies.

The project is systemic and designed for at least one year. So the next wave of reviews will again cover all areas, but other settlements.

Recall, the project "Mobile Polyclinic" began in December 2018 at the initiative of the chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Maxim Stepanov. The project is part of the reform of rural medicine, launched by President Petro Poroshenko.
