«Mobile clinic»: in the first week of work doctors have visited more than a thousand inhabitants of Odessa region
The first wave of medical examinations and consultations of the rural population in the framework of the "Mobile Polyclinic" project took place in the Savran and Kodima districts. Over three days, the team of doctors surveyed more than a thousand people who needed diagnostics.
"In the first week of the" Mobile Polyclinic "project, two teams of specialists in both districts visited more than a thousand residents. Often doctors took an appointment for 10-12 hours to examine all who received a referral or came on their own. In any case, the project is designed for at least a year, so residents of these areas will still have the opportunity to undergo diagnostics, if necessary, "said Olena Teryaeva, Director of the Department of Health of the State Department of Health.
Most patients needed consultations with a cardiologist - 191, an ophthalmologist - 190, more than 200 ultrasounds and more than 100 mammograms were performed in general. In the event of a final diagnosis, patients received advice from a doctor, referral for treatment in central district hospitals or regional medical facilities.
In addition, according to the results of the surveys, some patients were suspected of having cancer. Doctors sent them for additional diagnostics to the specialized institutions. "To make medicine accessible to the village and to identify the pathology in the early stages - this was the aim of the project", - emphasizes Olena Teryaeva. In addition, during the work of mobile clinics in the districts, nearly 80 declarations of patients with family doctors were signed.
Thus, mobile polyclinics worked in the village Savran, the villages of Kontseb and Baksha (Savransky district), as well as in Kodima, Slobidka and the village of Zagnitkov (Kodim district). Moreover, for residents of neighboring settlements, the regions organized transportation of patients, whom the family doctor sent for examination.
Note that each brigade of the "Mobile Polyclinics" physicians includes: cardiologist, ophthalmologist, endocrinologist, gynecologist, ultrasound doctor, X-ray laboratory. Telemedicine is used to diagnose if necessary.
The following areas, which specialists will visit next week, are Ananivsky and Baltsky. In the first place, patients who have a referral to a family doctor undergo a diagnosis. The surveys at this stage are free because they are part of the "Affordable Medicine" program.
Recall that the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Maxim Stepanov initiated the project "Mobile Polyclinic", which is part of the reform of rural medicine, which was launched by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The project involves identifying the most common diseases at an early stage and further sending patients for examination and treatment at highly specialized care institutions. It is planned that during the first wave of reviews experts will visit 75 settlements of the region and will examine about 20 thousand rural population.
