Residents of three districts of Odesa oblast compensate for losses from the ASF
Owners of animals damaged by African swine fever will be compensated by the end of 2018. This became known during an extraordinary meeting of the commission on the issues of technogenic-ecological safety and emergency situation of the Odessa regional state administration.
"This year, the African swine fever virus, unfortunately, touched the south of the Odessa region. Izmail, Kilia and Tatarbunarsky districts have already filed documents for compensation of losses from the reserve fund of the regional budget. Every resident who has suffered from this emergency will receive funds in a compulsory manner ", - said the deputy chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Svetlana Shatalova.
Currently there is no ASF vaccine. However, entry of the virus into the farm can be prevented by adhering to a number of rules of biosafety. Consequently, an awareness campaign on the proper level of biosafety is carried out both in households and in large agro-complexes. If necessary, antiepizootic commissions approve plans for the elimination of ASF, as well as determine the boundaries of protection and surveillance zones.
Recall that ASF cases have been registered in Romania since the beginning of 2018. In particular, in the village of Tulch, which is located near Izmail district. Together with the bodies of the National Police and the State Border Service with the involvement of the SNS and the National Guard, all necessary measures were taken to prevent the spread of the virus.
