Maxim Stepanov meets US ambassador to Ukraine: "We feel your support in concrete things"

Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Maxim Stepanov met with the United States Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Jovanovic. In the format of the business lunch, the parties discussed the socio-political situation, the electoral process, as well as cooperation between the two countries.

"We are grateful for the comprehensive support the United States gives Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. On the international arena, in the defense or energy sectors, we know that Ukraine can count on partner assistance. We feel your support in concrete things and it is extremely important for us, "said Maxim Stepanov, the chairman of the Odessa regional state administration.

The regional shareholder also reminded that this year the amount of aid from the USA to Ukraine has increased to almost 700 million dollars. During the meeting, the sides touched upon the issues of reforms that are being implemented in Ukraine.

"What you are doing now is important. And this is the transformation of Ukraine in general. So, we want to support it in the future, "said Mari Jovanovic.

It should also be noted that the American missile destroyer Donald Cook (DDG 75) of Arlie Burke class arrived in Odessa. The three-day visit takes place as part of the planned Ukrainian-American bilateral cooperation.

This is the second since the beginning of the year, the ship's arrival at the Black Sea. Thus, the chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Maksym Stepanov emphasized that the presence of American ships in the Black Sea and joint exercises is a sign of stability and security in the region.
