The Odesa region will intensify actions in fight against domestic violence. The Head of Odesa Regional State Administration Maksym Kutsyi said this at the international forum "Ukraine on the way to overcoming domestic and gender-based violence". First Lady Olena Zelenska, ambassadors of the United Kingdom and Canada, as well as the Honorary Ambassador of the United Nations Population Fund to Ukraine - UNFPA Ukraine Maria Yefrosynina took part in the event. The parties spoke about the protection and support of all who suffer from gender-based violence.

“This important topic is constantly being raised in the Odesa Regional State Administration, in particular during the recent visit of the Minister of Social Policy Yuliia Sokolovska, as well as at the meeting with representatives of the Faith, Hope, Love Foundation. We emphasized that 2020 is dedicated to the child and the family in the region. Unfortunately, children often witness domestic violence, resulting in psychological trauma for life. We do our best to reduce domestic violence every day. But in the future we will be even more involved in creating state mechanisms for assistance and protection of victims of such cases, ”Maksym Kutsyi said.

First Lady Olena Zelenska noted that a special 24/7 hotline is currently in operation. It works for anyone who needs psychological support and assistance from profile services.
