Doctors of the Odessa region study telemedicine opportunities at the "Family Doctor's School"
Doctors of the Odessa region have joined the national educational project "School of Family Physician". His goal is to raise awareness among rural physicians who will work in newly built outpatient clinics and pharmacists. More than 50 health workers from Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions took part in the training course, which took place in Odesa.
The training takes place within the framework of health care reform that continues in Ukraine. The result should be improved quality of provision of medical services and wages, as well as improving the working conditions of physicians.
"Thanks to the latest technology, the professionalism of family physicians, physicians and pediatricians, up to 80% of patients' applications can be practiced at the ambulatory or primary care center. At present, there are 398 doctors and 1,157 nurses in the primary chain of the Odessa region, most of them in remote settlements ", - said Olena Teryaeva, Director of the Department of Health of the Odessa Regional State Administration.
The training of primary care physicians is aimed at the active use of modern technologies - telemedicine. For example, in Okniyansky district, a pilot project for the reorganization of rural medicine with telemedicine counseling with the help of mobile diagnostic systems is being implemented for a year already.
"Such a modern case has shown its effectiveness: over 6 thousand consultations with family doctors and highly skilled doctors of the regional clinical hospital were conducted during the year. This is a new quality of primary care, which was felt by 20 thousand inhabitants of Oknyansky district. In the plans of the Odessa region to provide all FAPs and clinics of primary care with mobile diagnostic complexes ", - stressed Olena Teryaeva.
Therefore, more than 500 doctors from all over Ukraine will be trained at the School of Family Physician. The program also includes a course on 15 educational video lectures for health workers who were unable to take part in school trainings. The educational project will last until December 18 and will end with a forum involving school graduates. It is planned to present the results of the project and formulate further recommendations for further educational work with doctors.
